Shipping, Returns and Exchanges

Fulfillment Timeline

Once processed, your order will be packed and shipped within 1-4 business days (Monday to Friday.)  Please be patient with transit times.  Traveling Seamstress is not responsible for lost or stolen packages.  Liability for the package lies with the shipping carrier (USPS) once your order leaves our hands.

 

Domestic Shipping

Traveling Seamstress uses USPS First Class to ship. Once the order is on its way, an email with tracking information will be provided.  Priority and Expedited services are available at extra cost.  At this time, we do not offer free shipping. 

 

International Shipping

$20 flat rate for standard and economy international packages.  Expedited international available for an additional cost.  All international sales are final and do not qualify for returns or exchanges.  Customers are responsible for any duties and taxes incurred upon delivery.  Arrival times vary from 6- 28 days.  

 

Returns and Exchanges

If you are not entirely happy with the items that you have chosen, you may request to return it within 7 business days of receiving the items.  After 7 business days, a refund or exchange cannot be offered.  It may take up to 30 days to process your refund once the items are returned.

To be eligible for a refund, your items must be unused and in the same condition that you received it.  You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for return since the original shipping cost is non-refundable. It's recommended to add a tracking number for returns.

All sale items are final. Since many of the items are made in small batches an exchange may not be available to you.  If this is the case, either a refund or store credit will be given.

Fabric Care Questions

How do I clean my hand-dyed items?

  • Wash in cold water and with neutral PH/ plant-based detergents
  • Wash with like colors
  • Indigo dyed items should be turned inside out (just like jeans!) and washed with like colors
  • Tumble low or line dry (preferred)

 What about Bleeding?

All items are washed 2-4 times before being made available in the shop.  It is recommended to wash separately the first time. 

 

General Questions

What is up-cycled?

Up-cycled goods are one-of-a-kind pieces from various brands and designers that are previously owned, thrifted, and then hand-dyed or altered reusing the discarded and making it into something new.
